Emil Betro, Attorney

Emil Betro was born and raised in Kara Balta, Kyrgyz Republic. He graduated from A.S. Makarenko #10 School in Kara Balta, and after some soul searching decided to move to the United States to pursue his dreams. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and a certificate in International Relations. During his undergraduate studies, Emil was part of the United Nations Student Organization and traveled to New York to participate in Model United Nations global student conference.

Emil obtained his law degree from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, Emil was part of the Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court team and worked in a business law clinic. He also obtained a business law certificate along with his law degree upon graduation. Emil has been recently admitted to practice law in Alaska and is a member of the Young Lawyers of Alaska.

Emil is new to Alaska, but has shown huge enthusiasm for everything outdoors related, and is already getting his hiker’s feet. He is a fan of type II fun and is looking forward to re-learning cross country skiing this upcoming winter.
